Medication Management Training

Are you in compliance?

AB 2609 requires that all RCFE staff who assist residents with medication have the appropriate training by January 1, 2008, and four hours every year thereafter!

This class covers:

  •  Roles and responsibilities
  • Terminology
  • Types of medication orders
  • Basic rules and precautions
  • Procedures for assistance
  • Processes for working with pharmacies
  • Guidelines for storage
  • Medications and side effects
  • And more!

The class was developed in consultation with a licensed nurse and a pharmacist experienced in residential care, and includes an examination to test comprehension and competence.

For facilities with 15 or fewer residents, the law requires 4 hours of training and 2 hours shadowing.

For facilities with 16 or more residents, the law requires 8 hours of training and another 8 hours shadowing.

**THIS COURSE MEETS THE 5-HOUR “TRAIN THE TRAINER” REQUIREMENT!**
