Medication Management Training

AB 2609 requires that all RCFE staff who assist residents with medication have the appropriate training by January 1, 2008, and four hours every year thereafter!

The class was developed in consultation with a licensed nurse and a pharmacist experienced in residential care, and includes an examination to test comprehension and competence.
For facilities with 15 or fewer residents, the law requires 4 hours of training and 2 hours shadowing.
For facilities with 16 or more residents, the law requires 8 hours of training and another 8 hours shadowing.
